So, a little about me and why I’m here in your browser…

My name is Shelby Watson-Hampton.

I’m an agricultural marketing specialist, a farmer, a writer, and a total Aries & Enneagram 3 who basically runs on coffee, carbs, and cabernet.

My husband and I farm with my family on our 4th generation farm, Robin Hill Farm & Vineyards, where we grow wine grapes, run the farm winery, and host weddings in our renovated barn. Somehow, our farm has had the pleasure to be featured in multiple media outlets, which has been fun! So you can find us on the popular women in agriculture TV show ‘FarmHer’ and on Maryland Public Television’s show ‘Maryland Farm & Harvest’.

In addition to the farm, my off-the-farm job is working at a regional agricultural non-profit that assists farmers in diversifying, expanding, and marketing their businesses; and my fun side hustle is freelancing for several regional and national agricultural publications, including the Lancaster Farming Newspaper, Pink Tractor, and American Agriculturist.

I tend to be drawn to dynamic groups, so I served on the National Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee of the American Farm Bureau Federation from March 2019 – March 2021, and I recently took a seat on Solutions from the Land, an agricultural non-profit that proactively engages United Nations agencies and conventions on Climate Smart Agriculture, and that works towards providing farmer input on achieving the UN’s global sustainable development goals.

I’m also a mama to our little boy and to numerous fur babies as well.

All of this is why I need the coffee lol.

I’m here online because I love to meet, connect with, and write about female farmers, rural women entrepreneurs, and country life. I wanted an online home where I could collect all the work I enjoy doing, and a place where I could share some of my favorite things.
